ABOUT THE 2ND ANNUAL GREAT CANADIAN RACE & BEAVER FEATIVAL: The Great Canadian Beaver Race & Festival is a celebration of all things Canadian with a focus on the iconic beaver. The festival will open with a TENT PARTY Concert on the Friday night featuring Hello Cleveland, The Coalition, The Rockafellers & Fish Head, under the 15,000 square foot heated tent.  Doors open at 6:00 on Friday, Sept. 23/11, and the music and the party continue through the evening until 11pm. On Saturday, the Festival starts at 12 noon, with the opening of Beaver Lane, which includes vendors and activities for the whole family, once again focusing on all things Canadian.  In addition to the poutine vendor and the ever popular Beaver Tails, Beaver Lane will feature decorated Beaver Statues that have been on display throughout the months leading to the festival.  There will be a lumberjack show, master wood carvers, free kids zone and booths from a variety of vendors and local artisans. The excitement builds leading up the the popular Beaver Race, this year sponsored by CRS (Contractor's Rental Supply) that takes place at the pond at Heritage Park.  At 1:00pm, 10,000 race beavers are set free into the pond, and the first beaver to make it over the finish line wins $10,000, with additional prizes the next four finishers.  Go to www.barriebeaverfestival.com for ticket sales locations throughout the City.
