IMPACT LIVE Announces Classic Rock Greats Performing The Hott Roxx Concert Series: HELIX w/ DAYS LEFT, ORCHESTRAL ZEPPELIN & GODDO!!!

March 23, 2011 – IMPACT LIVE Launches a series of Spring Classic Rock Shows after bombarding the Barrie region with New Rock and Urban Superstars such as THREE DAYS GRACE , T-PAIN, BUCKCHERRY, PAPA ROACH, MY DARKEST DAYS & BLEEKER RIDGE.  Up to bat is HELIX with special guests DAYS LEFT, ORCHESTRAL ZEPPELIN, and GODDO with special guests still to be announced! Impact Live President, John Derlis says “After entertaining and selling tickets to more than 5,000 youth market revelers in a period of 8 days during March 2011, it makes good business sense to shift gears the very next month with a long awaited Classic Rock series catering to a more elder crowd.  Alternating target demographics and keeping ticket prices lower with the help of sponsors such as MOLSON (who recently came on board) will help support capacity crowds when concerts average 2 per month, planned for the balance of 2011”.

Impact Live have submitted dozens of artist offers and you can surely expect a continuous live show musical assault as part of the Hott Roxx Concert Series with ‘Event Programming’ split across the Barrie Molson Centre (4500 Capacity) and The Roxx Nightclub & Concert Hall (1250 Capacity), not excluding Impact Live festival, venue and corporate clients.

ABOUT HELIX: Helix kicks off 2011 with the release of their 16th full length studio CD “SMASH HITS UNPLUGGED” on the E.M.I. label coinciding with the release of “That Day is Gonna Come” to Canadian rock radio and “Dream On” to Canadian Hot AC.  Their last CD, Vagabond Bones, was released in 2010 on Fontana/Universal, and produced two singles on the Active Rock Charts. Helix is now 38 years old and still going strong.  Over their career they have produced 4 gold and two platinum albums, sold over 2,000,000 units, toured with over 200 of the world’s greatest recording acts (everyone from KISS to Motorhead), had a Number One album in Sweden,  and played 17 different countries.   Their accomplishments are long and varied, and have made them a Canadian institution.   Whereas many other bands that have been together for 38 years would be content to sit back on their laurels, Helix continues to pump out an album per year.

Two musical elements combine to become ‘The Symphony Of Rock’. Michael White’s experience performing the music of Led Zeppelin with his band, ‘The White’ represents the rock and roll component of the group, while the orchestral student performers represent the symphonic component of the group. Together with an incredible multimedia visual experience, they become ‘The Symphony Of Rock’ and through the process of this performance experience they explore and share they interest in the music of Led Zeppelin. This classic rock show will have even the most ardent Led Zeppelin fans cheering for more!

Toronto native and local bass wiz Greg Godovitz formed Goddo along with guitarist Gino Scarpelli (ex of Brutus) and drummer Marty Morin in 1975. The band toured central Canada and dipped into the States occasionally while honing their chops.

Scarpelli began working with El Mocambo Records and a side project Bongo Fury, releasing one album. A charity compilation album also saw the new single "Fortune In Men's Eyes". Not on the streets for long though, Godovitz signed with Attic, releasing PRETTY BAD BOYS barely a year later with new drummer Doug Inglis. The record contained the title-track, which would turn out to be their most successful single ever. The group recorded two nights in Barrie, Ontario and released LIGHVE - BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE that same year. The 2-record set captured their electricity on stage, particularly during "So Walk On", "O Carol”, and “Kiss My Whip". Notable is on the first night, Goddo had a comedian for warm-up, who, though putting the guys backstage in stitches, was nearly booed off the stage, until Greg came out and pleaded with the audience to give the kid a chance ... that kid was Jim Carrey.

By this time though Attic was having financial problems and the band was dropped.  Now without a record deal, Goddo went through several personnel changes, still doing gigs in and around the central Canada area for the next couple of years until their unofficial breakup. BEI Records issued 12 GAUGE GODDO in 1990, sparking a mini-reunion for select dates in Ontario and the region. The response given them prompted the release of THE KING OF THE BROKEN HEARTS in '92, which featured arguably some of the group's strongest material ever, including the title-track, the edgy "Dreams of New York City" and the tender "Lost Without Your Love".
